Barroco

This restaurant was one of the first I ever went to in Montreal, approximately 12 years ago. I had such a great experience. I still, to this day, think it is one of the best restaurants in the Old Port. This restaurant has a unique charm with a romantic atmosphere.

If you’re looking to splurge a bit on a delicious meal, I recommend this spot. The space is small and yet cozy.

Make sure to make a reservation in advance to not be disappointed.

Monarque

 This upscale Old Port restaurant is comprised of two different sections: a Brasserie and the Salle à Manger. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious. If you’re craving tasty French food, at one of the best restaurants in Old Port Montreal, this spot is not to be missed.

To get the real dining experience, you can go with the 3 course menu at the Salle à Manger. If you’re just looking for a more casual dining experience, you can choose to eat at the Brasserie and still enjoy some classic dishes.

Reservations are highly recommended.

Terrasse William Gray

This rooftop is wonderful during the summer as it gives you a gorgeous view of the Ferris wheel, the water and surrounding area in the Old Port. It is located on top of the trendy William Gray hotel. You can spend a few hours enjoying your food, cocktails and great vibes.

It’s a great spot to watch the fireworks during the L’International des Feux Loto-Québec, but make sure to make a reservation well in advance.

And you may be asking, what about in the winter? Well, they have conveniently set up beautiful clear heated frameless geodesic domes in which you can enjoy a wonderful brunch or dinner experience.

Stash Café

I’ve never been to Poland but, when I step into Stash Cafe, I imagine it’s exactly what it’s like stepping into an old charming restaurant in Poland. This restaurant opened in 1972 and over the years it has become one of Montreal’s well known establishments.

Here you can eat comforting food in a wonderful family atmosphere as you listen to the piano being played. You can enjoy some classic Polish food, such as Pierogis, veal sznitzels or stuffed cabbage leaves.

Restaurant Pastel

If you want to have a unique dining experience in Montreal, Pastel should definitely be on your list.

This restaurant opened in 2018 and has been offering original dishes that please your every taste bud. They offer a six course menu, which changes seasonally ensuring the best and most fresh ingredients.

Restaurant Mélisse

This is a wonderful restaurant you can visit for lunch, dinner or weekend brunch.

They even offer blankets for the cooler nights, which speaks to the level of service you will receive at this spot.

Maggie Oaks

This restaurant is located on the ground floor of the William Gray Hotel with its entrance right on Place Jacques Cartier. You can enjoy a great weekend brunch, lunch and dinner with the family or a group of friends at this spacious restaurant.

They are known for their wonderful in house-cured charcuterie and dry-aged steaks. So if you’re in the mood for a steak dinner, this is the best spot for you.
